Substitutimatation

Well, it's official. I'm a substitute teacher! I mean, I haven't actually subed for anyone yet, as the school year doesn't start until tomorrow, but I went through orientation and got my ID badge!

Alia, my sister, works as a teacher at an elementary school and is trying to get me some work there. So when I get back from the weeklong mandatory vacation (KA is taking a week off Sept. 7 - 14) I should start subbing in a class. Wahoo!

In other news I finally get to see Nicole again. It's been way too long! I haven't seen her since she came to Vegas for my birthday. I'm flying out during the week break. I'm very excited. Were going to get as much planning done as possible for the wedding, though I have a feeling it's not going to be as much as we really want.

I also finally figured out how to put MP3s on my phone and use them as ringtones. Now when my phone rings I can have it play the Fish Slapping song from Spamalot.

Substitute Teaching and Song Clip

Well, it looks as though I got the job. I have been invited to orientation on Aug. 22 and 23. I got the packet of stuff I have to get done before then; finger printing, substitute teaching license, TB testing.

The TB testing was fun. Went to the clinic and they injected some drug just under the surface of my arm. On Monday I go back and they take a look at my arm to determine if I have or have had TB or the vaccine. Then they read my fortune by playing connect the dots with my freckles.

In other news, a clip has been posted at the "Finding Love for Annie" website featuring my song. Here's the URL (Link changed on Aug. 18, 2005 as per Rod's request):

This was my big surprise. That the song is actually in the film and not just in the credits (though the entire song will still be in the credits). How cool is that? Check out the message board at the site for a new trailer and the montage scene. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Oh, and it looks like the short film I worked on here in Vegas will be going to Slamdance. I don't know if it has actually been accepted or if it's just been submitted, but either way it's still exciting.
