It's a temporary pic until I get some good stuff of the other Gatekeepers.

Yet another audition

Well I didn't suck. That is to say I didn't go in sing three bars, forget my words, start again, sing ten bars, forget my words, say "Thank you," and leave.

Nope. That was the Hairspray audition. (Yeah. Messed that one up.) This time, however, I did rather well. The audition was for "The Phantom of the Opera." I sang 'Love Can't Happen' from "Grand Hotel." At least the last bit. The entire song is about five minutes long (okay I exagerate, but it is still too long for an audition). But the end has this great note at the end, a high A (one line above the staff) and I didn't completely suck when I belted it out.

Now don't get me wrong. I don't expect anything to come of this audition, as it seems the recent auditions in Vegas are more to placate Vegas actors than to seriously consider them. But it was a chance to practice my audition.

But dang it would be great to get into the show.

Early Bird

I didn't sleep much last night...well, at all. I was too excited. I'm going to the Equity audition for the chorus of "The Phantom of the Opera." There's a very good chance I won't even be seen because they have to see union members first and then non-union. To bad the culinary union doesn't count. 8^)

But I'm showing up really early to try and make sure I am one of the first non-union people to sign up. Freinds of a fellow Gatekeeper came down from Utah yesterday just to audition. Two were non-union and one was union. The guy that was union was seen relatively early, but the others weren't seen till around 4:00pm (auditions started at 9:00am).

I have a long day ahead of me.

New Blog

Hey everybody...okay, the two of you, I've created a new blog deticated to the story of the Gatekeepers. I will posting bits of the story as I write them. Not sure how the contest went yet, but hopefully we'll know tomorrow. That would be nice. Till then, enjoy:
